For families across North Tyneside, and for the professionals who refer to us

When you ring Right Support, you get me.

I am David Ridley. I have spent more than 18 years in adult social care, and I started this company to do it properly. Companionship and practical support are available across North Tyneside now, and personal care follows the day our CQC registration is granted.

Ways to fund your support

None

CQC ratings yet, and we say so

Available now

Support you can arrange this week.

None of this needs a CQC registration, so none of it has to wait. It is the practical, everyday support that keeps someone independent at home, and we can start once we have met you and agreed a plan.

Companionship

Someone to sit with, talk to and do things with. Regular visits from a person your relative actually knows, at a time that suits them.

Shopping and errands

The weekly shop, prescriptions collected, post and parcels, and the small jobs that quietly pile up when getting out is hard.

Help around the home

Meal preparation, laundry, keeping things clean and tidy, and making sure the house stays somewhere it is safe and pleasant to be.

Getting out and about

Appointments, the community centre, church, the shops or the coast. Company on the way there and the way back.

Paperwork and admin

Letters read and answered, forms filled in, bills sorted and phone calls made. The things that cause the most worry and get talked about least.

A break for the family

Planned sitting so the person who normally does everything can go to work, sleep properly, or have an afternoon that belongs to them. Available where the agreed support does not involve personal care or another regulated activity.

Available following CQC registration

Personal care

Washing, dressing, continence support, help with moving safely and support with medication. Personal care is a regulated activity, which means we are not permitted to deliver it until the Care Quality Commission grants our registration, and we will not. When that registration lands, this page changes and we will tell you.

Why it says thatPersonal care is a regulated activity. Providers carrying it on in England generally need to be registered with CQC unless a specific legal exception or exemption applies, and it is worth checking whoever you speak to.

Who we support

Adults, at home, on their own terms.

We are a micro provider by choice. That means a small number of people, supported properly, by a team who know them, rather than a rota of strangers on fifteen minute calls.

A young man with Down syndrome working confidently behind a cafe coffee machine

Autistic adults and people with learning disabilities

Support built around how someone communicates, what they want their week to look like, and the things they would rather get on and do themselves.

An older woman and a younger woman sorting something out together at a kitchen table

Elderly adults

Staying at home, in the house you know, with the routines you have always had. Company, practical help, and someone keeping a proper eye on things.

Complex packages, NHS funded

Continuing Healthcare and ICB-funded support involving regulated activity, taken on only once registered and where funding, staffing and governance are confirmed first. We would rather say no than start what we cannot hold.

What it costs

A price built on what you need, not a menu.

We do not publish fixed hourly rates, because the honest answer is that the right price depends on the support the person actually needs. Pricing is confirmed after an initial discussion and a free home visit, once we have understood what support is actually needed. You will have the figure in writing before anything starts, and nothing begins until you have agreed it.

Home visit and support plan

David comes out, meets everyone, and writes the plan. No obligation to go any further afterwards.

Freeno obligation

Hourly support

Companionship, practical help and getting out and about, charged by the hour with a minimum visit length agreed up front.

Available following CQC registration

Personal care, live-in and commissioned packages

Regulated support, priced against the assessed need and the rota it actually takes to staff it safely, once our registration is granted.

Quoted per packagefollowing registration

What the price includes

Whatever the agreed figure is, it covers the things some providers charge for separately:

  • Travel between visits, not billed to you
  • The written support plan and the risk assessment
  • Reviews as things change, at no extra cost
  • A named contact who knows the person, not a rota desk
  • Contact for anything urgent

Prices are held for the length of an agreement and any change is put in writing well before it takes effect.

Paying for support

Four routes, and we will tell you honestly which one is yours.

Funding is the part families find hardest and the part providers explain worst. Here is the plain version. If you are not sure which applies, ring and ask. We will say so even when the answer means you do not need us yet.

Route 01

Paying privately

You arrange and pay for support yourself, at the price agreed after your assessment. No waiting list. Invoiced monthly or four weekly in advance.

Route 02

Direct payments

Your council has assessed the need and gives you the money to buy support yourself. You choose the provider, and that can be us. We invoice you and you account for it to the council.

Route 03

NHS Continuing Healthcare

Where needs are primarily health related, the NHS may fund the whole package. It follows a checklist and then a full assessment. We work to the agreed care plan and invoice the ICB, not the family.

Regulated packages follow CQC registration

Route 04

ICB commissioned packages

An Integrated Care Board commissions the package directly, often for complex or continuing needs. We accept these only where funding, staffing and governance are confirmed before anyone starts.

Regulated packages follow CQC registration

Where we are right now

We are new, and we would rather tell you that.

Every other home support website you open will show you a rating and a page of testimonials. We have neither yet, because we have not been going long enough to have earned them honestly. So instead, here is exactly where this company stands today.

Our current CQC position

Right Support North East Limited is not yet registered with the Care Quality Commission. We are preparing our registration application. We therefore have no CQC rating, and there is no inspection report to read, because there has been nothing to inspect.

Personal care is a regulated activity. That means we are not permitted to deliver it, and we will not deliver it, until our registration is granted.

Regulated personal care services will not commence until the relevant CQC registration has been granted.

Everything listed as available now sits outside regulated activity, which is why we can get on and do it while the application is prepared and considered.

We also have no customer reviews. We are a few weeks old and nobody has used us yet, so anything you saw on this page claiming otherwise would be invented. You are welcome to check our status yourself on the public register.

David James Ridley, Founder & Managing Director of Right Support North East

David James Ridley

Founder & Managing Director · Proposed Nominated Individual and proposed Registered Manager, subject to CQC approval

Care has never been just a job for me, it’s been my career, my passion, and the driving force behind my vision for Right Support North East.

  • Level 5 Leadership and Management for Adult Care
  • Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
  • Level 3 SVQ, Administering Medication to Individuals
  • Registered manager and CQC governance experience

I started in adult social care in 2008 as a support worker and worked my way up through team leading, deputy and registered management into senior quality and governance roles. Along the way I have worked in domiciliary care, supported living, learning disabilities and autism, mental health, and palliative and end of life care.

I have seen what compassionate leadership and skilled people can do for someone’s life. I have also seen what happens when quality, culture and the individual stop being the priority. Right Support North East exists because of the second one.

As someone who is autistic, I understand the importance of being listened to, respected and treated as an individual. That personal perspective has strengthened my commitment to creating services where people feel understood, valued and empowered to live the lives they choose.

Our ambition is not to become the biggest provider. It is to become one of the most trusted. Growth will come because we consistently deliver high quality, person centred care, and not the other way around.

As a micro provider we can be more personal and more responsive than a high volume service, and I intend to keep it that way. I will stay visible, contactable and involved in the quality of what we deliver, which is also why the phone number on this page is mine.

David James Ridley · Founder & Managing Director · Wallsend, North Tyneside

01

Compassion

We care with kindness, empathy and respect for every individual.

02

Integrity

We do the right thing, even when no one is watching.

03

Respect

We treat people with dignity, value their voice, and celebrate differences.

04

Excellence

We strive for high standards in everything we do, every day.

Our ethos: the four pillars behind Right Support North East

How it starts

Three steps, and the first one is a phone call with me.

01

You ring, and I answer

Not a call centre and not a form. Tell me what is going on and I will tell you honestly whether we are the right people, including when the answer is no.

02

I come out and we write the plan

A free visit at home, with whoever the person wants in the room. We agree what support looks like, when it happens and who provides it, and you get it in writing.

03

Support starts, and I stay involved

Consistent people at consistent times, so nobody is meeting a stranger at the door. We review it as things change, and I am still the person you ring.

Working here

We are building the first team now.

If you have worked in care and been frustrated by fifteen minute calls, rotas that change without warning and managers you never meet, we are the other thing. Small caseloads, proper handovers, and an owner who is on the rota with you.

Ask David about working here
  • Paid travel time between visits
  • Consistent people with consistent clients
  • Structured induction aligned to the Care Certificate standards, plus ongoing training and supervision
  • Direct line to the person who runs the company
  • Recruited for values, empathy and attitude first

Right Support Training & Consultancy

We train care teams, too.

Our specialist training and consultancy arm delivers practical, face-to-face induction and workforce development for adult social care providers: 3 and 4-day domiciliary care inductions, safe medication practice, moving & handling and a full 2026/27 course catalogue, taught by David at your premises or ours. Founding provider bookings are open now. The same arm offers practical care consultancy across England and Scotland, with specialist CQC and Care Inspectorate support.

For commissioners and case managers

A provider you can put in front of a panel.

We know a referral has to survive scrutiny, so here is what you need in one place, and a named person to send it to rather than a contact form.

Named statutory roles. David James Ridley as Proposed Nominated Individual and proposed Registered Manager, subject to CQC approval.
Registration status stated openly. Preparing our CQC registration application, regulated activity not commenced. Nothing hidden and nothing implied.
Funding routes accepted. Direct payments and private now; ICB commissioned and NHS Continuing Healthcare packages involving regulated activity following CQC registration.
Governance on request. Safeguarding, safer recruitment and DBS, medication, care planning and risk assessment, training and induction, complaints, business continuity. Appropriate insurance will be in place for any services we actively provide.
Capacity answered straight. A deliberately capped caseload, so you get a real yes or a real no on whether we can staff a package safely, not a maybe.
